INVITATION TO BID FOR REHABILITATION OF KAYA -YEI ROAD (79.5 KM) IN
THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH SUDAN

- The Government of the Republic of Uganda through its Uganda National Roads
Authority (UNRA) has allocated funds from its Road Development and Maintenance
Budget to be used for Rehabilitation of Kaya – Yei Road (79.5km) in the Republic of
South Sudan following a bilateral meeting held in 2007 between the Heads of State of
Uganda and South Sudan to provide enabling infrastructure to foster economic
development between the two countries and intends to apply a portion of these funds
towards eligible payments under the rehabilitation works contract for the rehabilitation of
Kaya – Yei Road (79.5km) in the Republic of South Sudan as detailed below.

- Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Restricted Bidding procedures
contained in the Government of Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public
Assets Act, 2003. Envelopes containing sealed bids must be marked with the above
procurement reference number on the tof5 right corner indicating the Lot being submitted. - This letter of invitation has been addressed to the following short listed bidders
- Kark Technical Services Limited
- Otada Construction Limited
- Sobetra Uganda Limited
- Marvel Construction Limited
- Further information may be obtained from UNRA and inspect the bidding document at
the address given below (8b) from 09:00am (Local time) to 5:00pm (Local time) during
working days from Mondays to Fridays. - You are advised to visit and examine the site of works, its surroundings and obtain ail
information that may be necessary for preparing the bid and entering into contract for
construction of the works. The cost of visiting the site shall be at the bidder’s own
In addition, there shall be a Pre-bid meeting at 10:00 AM on 18*^ January 2019
at UNRA Headquarters, Plot 3-5, New Portbell Road, Nakawa UAP Business Park,
Block D, 1®^ Floor, PDU Boardroom. - A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be collected by you upon
submission of a written application on bidder’s letter head to the address below at NO
COST - Bids clearly marked “LOT 1: KAYA – GULUMBI SECTION (0+000 – 40+000KM) AND
LOT 2: GULUMBI – YEI SECTION (40+000 – 79+500KM)” must be delivered to the
address below (8c) by 11:00 AM local time on or before 8*^ February, 2018. All bids must
be accompanied by a bid security of UGX 300,000,000. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids
will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the
